Brief Description

Indian Bank, a leading Public Sector Bank, invites online applications from eligible graduates for the engagement of 1500 apprentices for a one-year training period. The vacancies are spread across various states and union territories. The selection process will involve an online test followed by a local language proficiency test. Candidates who have prior work experience of one year or more are not eligible.

Eligibility & Stipend

Eligibility Criteria (as on 01/07/2025)

  • Age Limit: Minimum 20 years and Maximum 28 years. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories.
  • Educational Qualification: A graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized University.
  • Important Condition: Candidates must have completed their graduation on or after 01.04.2021.
  • Ineligibility: Candidates with prior apprenticeship or job experience of one year or more are not eligible.

Monthly Stipend

  • Metro / Urban Branches: ₹15,000/-
  • Rural / Semi-Urban Branches: ₹12,000/-

Selection Process

Online Test & Language Test

  • Online Test: An objective test of 100 marks with a composite time of 60 minutes. Subjects include Reasoning, Computer Knowledge, English, Quantitative Aptitude, and General/Banking Awareness.
  • Negative Marking: 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT): Candidates who qualify the online test will undergo a test for the local language of the state they applied for. Candidates who have studied the local language in class 8, 10, or 12 are exempted.

  1. Step 1: NATS Portal Registration: It is mandatory for all candidates to first register on the apprenticeship portal at `www.nats.education.gov.in`. Note down the Enrolment ID generated.
  2. Step 2: Bank's Website Application: Visit the Indian Bank website `www.indianbank.in`, navigate to the 'Careers' page, and find the link for Apprentice Engagement.
  3. Click on "Click here for New Registration" and fill in your details.
  4. Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and a handwritten declaration as per the specifications.
  5. Pay the application fee online to complete the process.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Is it mandatory to register on the NATS portal?

Yes, it is a mandatory prerequisite. All eligible candidates must first register themselves on the NATS 2.0 portal (`www.nats.education.gov.in`) before applying on the Indian Bank website.

2. I have 1.5 years of work experience after my graduation. Can I apply?

No, candidates who have job experience of one year or more after completing their graduation are not eligible for this apprenticeship.

3. I graduated in March 2021. Am I eligible?

No, only candidates who have completed their graduation and received their passing certificate on or after 01.04.2021 are eligible to apply.

4. Is there negative marking in the online exam?

Yes, for each wrong answer in the objective test, 1/4th of the mark assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty.

5. I studied the local language in 10th standard. Do I still need to take the Language Test?

No, if you can produce a 10th (or 8th/12th) standard mark sheet or certificate as evidence of having studied the specified local language, you will not be required to undergo the language test.

6. Will I get a permanent job in the bank after this training?

No, this is a one-year apprenticeship training program. The bank has no obligation to offer regular employment to apprentices after the completion of the training period.
